Suspensions Unlimited Mid Engine LS Powered Pro II
Fresh off the hub dyno, 497.4 @ 7,000 rpm, from just 347 ci ! Naturally Aspirated (N/A) on pump gas, with 400 ft lbs of torque at 5,700 and + 360 ft lbs from 4,900 -7,100.
This car was For Sale late last season but sometimes I can’t leave well enough alone and I ordered a new Suspensions Unlimited from Ed and that got in the way of this sale. So she’s officially turn-key with even more upgrades than last year!
She’s a chromoly mid-engine Suspensions Unlimited Pro II LS6 V8 sand car with the latest revised version of Weddell S4 sequential transaxle, and huge Wilwood brakes. This well sorted car shines in the dunes, she’s light (2,014 lbs with a quarter tank of fuel), flies flat and lives up to SU’s reputation for excellent handling dune cars. The SU mid engine Pro II is arguably the best car in the dunes (not saying at the drags or in the whoops) running the dunes, and this one has a great power to weight ratio of about 4 lbs per hp and a really useful + 7,500 rpm redline.
She’s a driver’s car, very presentable but not perfect paint, she has desert scrathes, and she’s gonna get em if you drive her as we intended her to be; if your the kinda person that likes Porsche GT or Cup type handling and performance, she’s probably an exact fit for your personality. The powerband and brake system will be familiar, to you.
All new $5,000 brake system with top of the line Tilton 900 Series fully adjustable pedal box, master cylinders and on-the-fly adjustable brake bias bar. New Wilwood billet aluminum DP4 front calipers and DP6 rear calipers with new iron rotors and matching pads. If you’re strictly a sand/Glamis person then big brakes aren’t really that big of a concern to you; but if you hit Dumont or other places with some hard-pack and you really get with it, then you know why I put a capable brake system on her!
This car cannot be replicated at 125k, we have that much in the original purchase of the car and the new parts installed, not including our labor.
