Up for sale is my “ Very Original” 1963 Chevy Nova wagon. I say “very original” because it has an LS3 in it with a 4l60 trans. I bought this car well over 10 years ago and it was 100% stock when I bought it. It was 3 on the tree and had the original stright 6 engine in it. This Nova 2 has all of its original interior and it is still in pristine condition. Original headliner , seats, carpet and dash are all in great shape. The exterior of the car is nearly all original paint. The entire car is the original paint with small amounts of patina. The passender rear quarter panel had been re-sprayed early in its life. There was very minimal body work done but the old laquer primer used seems to have shrunk and you can see it in some of the photos. This is a very solid virtually rust free car. All the doors open and close well and line up great.
The shift linkage had failed early in the cars life and the original owner of the car ended up leaving it parked in there garge for most of its life. The Original odometer showed less than 70,000 miles when I purchased this Nova. I purchased the car off a guy that bought it off of the original owner. When I bought the car the shift linkage broke when I was driving it home. I fixed it multiple times with OEM parts but it continued to fail. Multiple people told me that this was very common and that it was just a bad design. I wanted to install an automatic trans and keep it as a reliable daily driver for my family but one thing led to another and it ended up getting a complete overhaul of the running gear.
Once I came across Church Boys Racing and learned about all the high quality performance parts they make specifically for these early Nova’s I was set on an LS Swap and turning this car into a performance daily driver. I ended up buying an LS3 and 4l60 trns and the journey been. I couldn’t do this myself so hired Robert @LS3velle_garage to be the mastermind and do this build. He used lots of new OEM chevy and corvette parts on this Swap.
Here is a small list of the after market parts we bought from Church Boys Racing. Tubular Upper Control Arms, tubular lower control arms, Viking Coil Over Conversion, viking rear ajustable shocks, rack and Pinion conversion, rear multi leaf springs, custom aluminum radiator, EFI fuel tank, Disc Brakes and Vintage look Dakota digital Gauges. I upgraded from the original 4 lug 13” wheels to 5 lug 15” Rally wheels ( because its pretty much the biggest wheel you can fit with out cutting anything) and I had them color matched Azure Aqua (918) to keep an original look and feel.
My goal with this build was to keep this car looking very original and turn this car into a reliable daily driver that I could load my family in and cruise down to the beach on the weekends. I have only put around 10,000 miles on this car in the last 10 years and made 3-4 weekend bech trips. I feel it is time to open up a parking spot in our garage and let somoene else enjoy this car.
Note: Horn and e-brake and electronic fuel gaugedo not work on the car.
